Inspect against the checklist
Each inspection point carries a QR tag and the checklist assigned to it. The crew’s answers and photos go through the Photo Gate, and every failed item needs a written observation before submit.
Decide on the board
Only members with approval rights can approve an inspection or send it back, and the server records who decided and when. A reviewer cannot change the crew’s answers.
Seal every decision
Each inspection’s answers, status and review decision are sealed with SHA-256, and each decision is written to the company’s activity log, linked to the entry before it.
Track nonconformances
An NCR carries a severity, an assignee, a due date and a root cause, moves through its own statuses, and can be closed only with a linked, approved re-inspection.
Show it to an auditor
Turnover packages built from Reports print the NCR register beside the approved inspections, and a manager can download the verification package for anyone to check the chain.
What it doesn’t do
- It has no hold-point or definable-feature-of-work objects. What it enforces is the inspection: required answers and photos before submit, and a reviewer’s decision before approval.
- It does not stop a reviewer from approving their own submission by default. Separation of duties is a workspace setting an admin turns on.
- It does not certify the work. RTI documents the inspection and the decision; the AHJ or the licensed professional on the job accepts it.
What a defensible QC system has to answer
Ask what would detect an edit
Version history inside a database an administrator controls is not the same as a tamper-evident chain. Ask what specifically would detect an edit.
Check that each record is tied to a place
A QR tag on the inspection point ties each record to the place it describes, instead of to whatever the crew typed.
Check who can accept the work
The person doing the work should not be the person accepting it. The tool should make that separation structural, not procedural.
Ask for a sample auditor export
Ask for a sample export. If it does not include photos, timestamps, signatures and the chain state, it is a report rather than evidence.

Anyone handed the verification package can check the chain in their own browser.
- Does RTI track nonconformances?
- Yes. The NCR register is on for every workspace by default. Each NCR has a severity, an assignee, a due date and a root cause, moves through statuses from open to closed with due and past-due notices, and closes only with a linked, approved re-inspection.
- Can the person who submitted an inspection approve it?
- Only if they hold approval rights, which crews do not by default. A workspace can also turn on separation of duties, after which no one can approve or reject an inspection they submitted, whatever their role.
- What does an auditor receive?
- A turnover package of the approved inspections with their photos, signatures and record hashes, plus the NCR register when it is built from Reports, and the verification package, which anyone can check in their own browser.
