Does closing an item require evidence?
If a status dropdown is enough, your re-walk is the verification step and you will do it more than once.
Is location structured or typed by hand?
Free-text locations make trends impossible. Structured locations — site, building, floor, zone, inspection point — let you see that the same sub keeps missing the same detail.
Can the owner or client see progress without an account of yours?
A read-only client portal keeps the owner informed without giving them your internal board or a weekly email you have to write.
Does the punch list end up in the turnover package?
The closed list with its photos is part of the handover record. If it lives in a separate tool, someone re-types it.
Put it on a real job.
The punch list is the last thing the owner sees you do. It is worth having the record show that every item was fixed, not just marked.
