- After underground and in-wall drain, waste, vent and supply piping is run, before backfill or wall closure and before the pressure test is called. Run by: The plumbing foreman walking their own rough-in ahead of the pressure test and the AHJ inspection.

- After the rough-in and pressure test pass, the day before slab pour or the day drywall is scheduled on each area. Run by: The GC's superintendent with the plumbing foreman, releasing slab and wall areas for pour or cover.

What most often sends plumbing work back
- Drain lines photographed dry with no level or slope reading to prove the fall.
- Pressure test gauges photographed at the start of the hold, not at the end when the drop actually shows.
- Cleanouts buried in the slab or wall with no location recorded before cover.
- Slab areas poured over piping with only a passing test on record, no photo of the gauge at pour time.
- Sleeve locations for future fixtures not matched against the fixture plan before the slab is closed.
- Test plugs and caps left loose, discovered leaking after the concrete is down.
- Fixtures caulked and photographed before the water is actually run to check for leaks under the trap.
- Water heater relief valve and pan installed but discharge routing never traced to termination.
