Room-by-room release

Every room or area walked and released individually
One photo per room showing the full wall line, tagged to the room's inspection point.
Rough-in corrections verified closed
Each punch item from the AHJ or internal rough-in re-photographed in its corrected state.
No new penetrations or damage since the rough-in walk
Other trades' screws, anchors and sleeve cuts have not struck conductors or boxes.
Conductors made up or folded back with trim length
Splices and pigtails made up, or conductors folded neatly into the box with enough free length for trim; none pushed behind the box.

Concealment risks

Backing and blocking clear of boxes and devices
Wood or hat channel added for other trades does not bury or shift any box.
Above-ceiling work complete before the grid closes
Homeruns, junction boxes and supports photographed before tile or hard lid conceals them.
Firestopping complete at rated penetrations
Every penetration through a rated assembly sealed with the listed system for that assembly.
Wiring in insulated walls held tight to framing
Cable stapled and conduit strapped to the side of the stud so batts or spray foam can fill the cavity; no loose loops across the cavity face.
Recessed housings rated for insulation contact where buried
Where recessed housings sit in an insulated ceiling, IC rating on the label wherever insulation will touch; non-IC housings keep their labeled clearance.

Junction and pull boxes left reachable after cover
Every junction or pull box that will sit above a hard lid or behind a wall has an access panel located, or opens from the finished side.

Release records

Passed rough-in inspection on file for the area
The AHJ's passed rough-in result for this area is on record before release; areas without one stay held.

Each room tagged released or held at the doorway with tape or signage, so cover crews can see which walls they may close.
Cover trades given the released rooms and box locations
