Manual drain opened at the tank bottom until it blows clear, automatic drain confirmed cycling where fitted, standing water noted since it points to a passing or blocked drain.

Unit loads, builds pressure and cuts out at the switch setting without laboring or short-cycling, then holds pressure with the motor off.
What usually sends this back
The failures are almost always the evidence, not the work
- Tank drain cracked open for a second and closed, so a cup of water blows out while the rest sits rusting the tank bottom.
- Belt guard left off after the last belt change because it's quicker to eyeball the belt, and it never goes back on.
